"Theatres of Nature" is a 9 minute stop-motion animation exploring past and present animal representations, museum culture and the struggle to capture the "essence of the animal" through preservatory means.

The film was produced during my honours year of study at Gray's School of Art and was first shown at a collaborative exhibition entitled "Wunderkammer" in Aberdeen at Project Slogan Gallery 2 in May 2009 with fellow artist and Gray's graduate Stewart Comrie. "Theatres of Nature" was also exhibited as part of an installation at Gray's School of Art Degree Show 2009 and was subsequently selected for exhibition at the Royal Scottish Academy New Contemporaries in April 2010 at the National Gallery in Edinburgh, and internationally in June 2010 at "Gate 10: International Departure", Ex Ospedale Sant 'Agostino, Modena, Italy.
